Group 49 peer review

This workshop was all about making 2 plant rooms with the specification that one must be air tight or as airtight as possible and the other being a contrast- airy or as open as possible. Something that was taken into account (as recommended by the tutors) was the consideration of what atmosphere each plant room conveyed with regards to scale, materiality, spacial enclosure, light (or lack of), and other elements, as well as the Utopian.
Group 49 started with a totally different way of thinking/imagining their design to what it ended up looking.

There utopian plantroom was to be the air-tight one. They cladded it in gold but the interior was intentionally contrasted to cast a gloomy atmosphere over its inhabitants, reminiscent of the Batman lair.  The construction of the plant room involved the use of foamboard and covering it with a combination of gesso and sand to create a concrete type texture.

There dystopian plant room was more roomy. The construction involved mdf components to create connections that would span to become a blanket and
