Raft Development

Since rafts are usually used when in danger or trouble we have used the raft to symbolize an escape from the Dystopian city site to the Utopian Waiheke site.

The perspective image on the top right corner can either be used as luggage holders or seats/rooms for passengers to hold on to on the raft.

Proposed material in real life scale for the raft would be wood and a light weight aluminium to hold the raft together.

Vehicle Testing

The first vehicles we've tested have been a glider and a raft, both taking advantage of renewable energy resources- wind and wave current.

Our flying vehicle

Playing around with our first glider.

Testing how our glider's performance holds up outside in its real environment.

Our sea vehicle- raft

Our first trial of two versions of our sea vehicle, a raft.
Floated quite well, even when the natural elements tested.

After talking with our tutors, they've recommended looking into how a kite glides and have emphasized the need for refinement in design and attention to detail when constructing.

Vehicle First Tasks

The following short clips show motion within the environment around us.

Motion in Action

The following video shows the flying of the first lantern. It takes a while to take off but when it flies, there's no looking back.
